Purpose of the Role
The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the manufacturing plant premises, personnel, and assets. This role involves developing, implementing, and managing security policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate risks and safeguard against unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
Job Responsibility
1. Security Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and plans tailored to the specific needs and risks of the manufacturing plant Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into overall business operation. Discussion of resource allocation and any potential cost-saving measures
2. Physical Security Management: Oversee the deployment and management of physical security measures, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, alarms, and perimeter security. Coordinate with security personnel or contractors to ensure effective patrol and surveillance of the premises Respond promptly to security incidents, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Review of the latest security threat assessment conducted for the manufacturing plant Introduction of proposed security enhancements to address identified vulnerabilities and strengthen overall security posture Implementation of robust visitor management protocols Arms licence renewal Event coordination and management (inside plant and out of plant area) from security point of view i.e parking, traffic control, smooth entry to guests and ambulance arrangement (if required) Finished vehicle parking management and support to despatch team Dog Kennel management, care and maintenance of pets and duty deployment of dog handlers Preparation for different types of audits ( ISO 45001, ESMS, ITSM etc)
3. Personnel Security Deployment & Training: Develop and enforce employee security policies and procedures, including access control, identification badges, and visitor management Training of security personnel in the plant. Ensure proper deployment of security team (contract) Ensure control of OT of contract employees Presentation of the estimated budget required for implementing the proposed security enhancements New projects ( RFID based boom barriers at material gate, KOISK for visitors management and turnstile based access control) Monthly meeting with service provider to discuss any operational, legal, logistical issues, sharing of information related to security across industries
Desired Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of experience in a senior security management role, with a demonstrable track record of developing and implementing security strategies and frameworks.
- Excellent knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to infrastructure security in an organisation.
- Analytical mind-set and strong problem-solving skills to assess risks, analyse complex security issues and develop appropriate solutions.
- Known local Government offices
- BE/ MBA.
