- We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Capacity and Performance Management Analyst to join our team.

- You will play a critical role in ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization for our mainframe environment.

- You will leverage your expertise in SAS, z/OS systems, and capacity planning tools to analyze workload, forecast resource needs, and recommend optimization Monitoring and Analysis:

- Utilize SAS on the mainframe to analyze System Management Facility (SMF) data and identify performance bottlenecks.

- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to CPU, memory, I/O, and network utilization.

- Generate reports using RMF (Resource Measurement Facility) and other tools to understand workload patterns and resource usage trends.

Capacity Planning and Forecasting:

- Develop workload models and forecasts to predict future resource requirements.

- Analyze resource consumption of billed and non-billed services using rate analysis techniques.

- Recommend capacity optimization strategies to ensure efficient utilization of mainframe resources.

Workload Management:

- Possess a strong understanding of Workload Manager (WLM) concepts and configuration.

- Analyze job control language (JCL) and understand its impact on workload performance.

- Utilize job entry subsystem (JES) data to monitor job scheduling and execution.

Reporting and Visualization:

- Utilize MS Office Suite tools (Excel, PowerPoint) to create clear and concise reports for management.

- Leverage data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) to present performance data and insights effectively.

Technical Skills:

- Proven experience with SAS on the mainframe in a batch environment.

- In-depth knowledge of z/OS Systems and mainframe performance management concepts.

- Proficiency with WLM, JCL, JES, ISPF, SMF data collection, and SQL.

- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities :

- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in capacity planning and performance management technologies.

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize mainframe operations.

- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure efficient resource allocation and utilization.

Qualifications :

- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in capacity and performance management, with a focus on mainframe systems.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve performance issues.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Experience with SAS programming on the mainframe is essential.

- In-depth knowledge of z/OS systems and mainframe performance management concepts.

- Proficiency with workload management, JCL, JES, ISPF, SMF data collection, and SQL.
