Role SummaryThe Data Engineer will work within a team to define, design, develop, integrate, and build one or more data warehouse environments, including data mart, data virtualization and data visualization components in different environments to meet customers’ analytical, business intelligence, scalability and availability requirements. The Data Engineer acts as a technical lead and individual contributor on complex projects, contributing to technical decisions, participating in vendor analysis and selection projects, introducing process improvements, completing proof-of-concept projects, and providing oversight on the work of other technical staff.

Role ResponsibilitiesBuild data-intensive solutions that are highly available, scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-effective.Create and maintain highly scalable data pipelines, including the use Azure Databricks using Python.Design and build ETL/ELT data pipelines to extract and process data from a variety of external/internal data sources.Build data insights, data analytics, ML models, fraud and anomaly detection using Snowflake/DatabricksDefine, implement, and build jobs to populate data models and modern data solutions.Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery.Relational and NoSQL database managementUtilize applicable query languages to query data repositories.Build and utilize CI/CD pipelines within a DevOps framework.

Essential Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Information systems or equivalent experience.6-8+ years of experience in designing and building cost-effective large scale data marts, data warehousing, distributed big data processing (e.g. Databricks, Spark, Snowflake)6-8+ years of ETL development experienceSQL: Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries/workflows, coupled with strong expertise in relational databases.Snowflake: Proficiency in scripting, data modeling, and Snowflake Python SDKProficiency in Python. Experience in pandas, pySpark, and/or NumPy is also desired.Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool)Proficiency in workflow orchestration (Databricks, Azure data factory).Competency in the following tools and technologies and databases:JinjaDatabricks Notebooks (w/ Python scripting)Cosmos DBAzure Event HubPower BI

DevOps experience, including working with GitHub.Experience building and optimizing highly scalable data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets and provides valuable insights.Experience working with streaming data solutions.Working experience building insights, ML models, fraud and anomaly detection using Snowflake/Databricks.
