Location: Maharashtra

Educational Background: PhD or Master's degree in Agriculture Science, Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in agricultural research and development, with substantial exposure to ICAR projects or similar organizations.


Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly experienced Agriculture Scientist with at least 15 years of expertise in agricultural research and development, preferably with significant experience in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) or similar institutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crop science, soil management, agronomy, or related fields, and a proven track record of driving impactful agricultural projects and innovations.


Key Responsibilities:


Research and Development:

  • Lead and execute advanced research projects in agriculture, focusing on crop improvement, pest management, soil health, or sustainable farming practices.
  • Analyze and interpret agricultural data to provide innovative solutions for current industry challenges.

Policy and Advisory:

  • Provide expert advice on agricultural policies, programs, and projects to government and private stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies for improving agricultural productivity and sustainability in diverse climatic regions.

Project Management:

  • Oversee large-scale agricultural projects, including budget management, team coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project outcomes with measurable impact on farming communities.

Technology Adoption:

  • Promote the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, including precision farming, GIS-based solutions, and advanced irrigation techniques.
  • Collaborate with technology providers and institutions to integrate innovations into farming practices.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Mentor and train junior scientists, agricultural officers, and farmers on best practices and new technologies.
  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and field trials to disseminate knowledge.

Collaboration and Networking:

  • Build partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in conferences, forums, and technical committees.

  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in agricultural research methodologies, data analysis, and field experiments.
  • Familiarity with agricultural policies, schemes, and government programs in India.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging with diverse audiences.


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience in sustainable agriculture practices and climate-resilient farming.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies in agriculture, such as drones, IoT in farming, and machine learning for crop predictions.
  • Proven track record in publishing research papers or patents in the agriculture domain.
