JOB TITLE : Structural Expert (Full Time)

DEPARTMENT : Engineering

REPORTS TO : Vice President, Global engineering & Innovation

Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting or construction companies, with a focus on industrial construction.

Location : Hyderabad

1. JOB PURPOSE

The Civil & Structural Expert is responsible for providing specialized expertise in mechanical and structural engineering within the field of industrial construction, with a focus on optimizing construction costs and ensuring structural integrity. The expert will oversee structural integrity studies, interpret soil studies, design foundations, and validate modular and mobile structures. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations, while also staying updated on technological advances in the field.


2. RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Conduct structural integrity studies and interpret soil studies to inform foundation designs and ensure structural stability.
  • Design and validate static and mobile equipment structures considering dynamic loads and safety standards in industrial construction.
  • Optimize construction costs through efficient design and construction methodologies, leveraging lean engineering concepts.
  • Oversee the design and validation of modular and mobile structures, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with global teams to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and ensure consistency in design and construction standards.
  • Stay updated on technological advances in mechanical and structural engineering, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct environmental studies and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives in construction projects.

3. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Project Teams: Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise and guidance on mechanical and structural engineering aspects of industrial construction projects. Consultants and Contractors: Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with design standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements. Global Teams: Interact with global teams to share knowledge, best practices, and technological advances in mechanical and structural engineering.

4. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/COMPETENCIES


Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate or post-graduate degree in Civil /Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting or construction companies, with a focus on industrial construction.
  • Exposure to mineral processing and material handling equipment is essential.

Competencies

  • Strong technical expertise in Mechanical and structural engineering, with a focus on industrial construction.
  • Strong Numerical ability and should be a commercial acumen
  • Proficiency in structural integrity studies, foundation design, and optimization of construction costs.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations in construction.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with global teams.
  • Experience in designing static and mobile equipment structures considering dynamic loads.
  • Familiarity with lean engineering concepts and continuous improvement orientation.
  • Ability to interpret soil studies and conduct environmental studies.
  • Hunger for learning and staying updated on technological advances in the field.

Soft skills

  • Good English knowledge - written and speaking communication skills
  • Experience in Global organizations (MNC) will be preferred
