Virtualization engineer

We are seeking an experienced Virtualization Engineer with strong Linux expertise to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in virtualization technologies, Linux administration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting across large-scale environments. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, or Open Stack). Deploy and administer Linux servers (RHEL, Cent OS, Ubuntu, SUSE) in virtualized and bare-metal environments. Design and implement virtual infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and security. Manage storage integration (SAN, NAS, i SCSI, NFS) with virtual platforms. Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot virtual machines, hosts, and clusters. Automate provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform. Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for virtualized workloads. Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and provide L2/L3 level support. Stay updated on virtualization and Linux technology trends, applying best practices. Required Skills & Experience Virtualization Platforms: VMware v Sphere/ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, Open Stack (any combination). Linux Administration: Strong experience with RHEL, Cent OS, Ubuntu, or SUSE. Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools. Storage & Backup: Knowledge of v SAN, v Vols, NFS, i SCSI, Veeam, or similar backup tools. Networking: VLANs, virtual switches, load balancing, firewalls in virtualized environments. Performance Tuning: VM sizing, CPU/memory/storage optimization, kernel tuning. Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills in complex multi-vendor environments. Certifications (preferred): RHCSA/RHCE, VCP (VMware Certified Professional), Red Hat Virtualization, or equivalent. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 3–8 years of experience in virtualization and Linux administration. Hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
