Role Purpose: 

The job holder is primarily responsible for providing technical support to the Group Corporate Finance and Business Development department by performing financial modelling and analysis activities related to corporate acquisitions. This includes building appropriate financial models to evaluate the financial performance of new target acquisitions, review of target’s financial statements and other relevant data as well as performing post-acquisition follow-up analysis and reviews. The job holder will also be responsible for building cash flow forecasting models, evaluation of financial performance against forecasts and budgets, preparing financial model and providing critical insights to support decision-making and enhance overall corporate financial management. This will also include support the Group Accounting and Reporting team with post-acquisition goodwill impairment reviews. This role will involve working with various stakeholders in DP World Group Finance (such as Corporate Finance, Business Development, Treasury, Accounting and Reporting, Management Reporting and Financial Analysis and Tax).

Reporting to: Senior Vice President- Global Shared Services

Key Role Responsibilities:

1. Financial analysis and evaluation

Build appropriate financial models to conduct financial analysis of new acquisitions, assessing their performance compared to projected forecasts and acquisition models. Identify key financial drivers and trends and provide comprehensive reports and insights to various stakeholders. Developing complex financial models from scratch to evaluate investment opportunities and project valuations.

2. Due diligence and integration

Support due diligence for potential acquisitions including review of financial statements and cash flow models. Supporting the smooth integration of acquired entities into existing corporate structure.

3. Performance management and support

Monitor ongoing financial performance of acquired entities, identifying variances and trends to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for executive management and stakeholders.

4. Strategic planning support

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate financial analysis into the strategic planning process.  Provide recommendations based on financial findings to optimize profitability and efficiency across the acquired entities.

5. Budgeting and forecasting

Assist in development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, incorporating insights from analysis performed at the time of acquisition. Track budget performance and provide variance analysis for all the acquired entities.

6. Accounting and reporting

Assist in development of goodwill impairment analysis models and performing annual goodwill impairment analysis post-acquisition.  Respond to external auditor queries in relation to impairment analysis and ensure appropriate and timely resolution. 

7. Others

Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s principles, values and culture.  Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Skills & Competencies: 

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on corporate finance. Prior experience in corporate finance, investment banking or Big 4 corporate finance/transaction advisory function or similar roles. Strong knowledge of financial modelling (such as DCF, IRR), strategy, budgeting and risk analysis.  Excellent Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills. Excellent analytical, strategic planning and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and collaboration skills. Excellent communication and relationship management skills.  Good knowledge of accounting and reporting requirements (especially goodwill impairment assessments under IFRS) – (desirable) Proactive mindset with ability to work within strict timelines and under pressure.

Education & Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/commerce/business administration. CFA Charter Holder a must Qualified Chartered Accountant (desirable).
