Job Title: Payroll Manager

Job Summary:

The Payroll Manager reports directly to the Director and is responsible for functioning as an owner, focusing on associate development, overall service delivery, timely and accurate payroll processing, system configuration modification, revenue generation, and managing internal and external service experiences while ensuring margin targets and positive client experiences measured by NPS.

This position oversees and manages Service Operations support teams, ensuring timely actions and resolution of client requests through the Siebel system.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Service Operations team, composed of Service Teams, and provide direction on team activities, including resource optimization, performance expectation settings, coaching, mentoring, supporting a culture of self-development, and talent growth.
  • Responsible for overall service payroll processing, support system updates, year-end updates, reporting, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a One ADP approach for a better client experience.
  • Ensure The Service Operations Teams are trained and prepared for their roles and responsibilities within the service structure.
  • Role will be responsible for a portfolio of clients in the service operations support and oversight of day-to-day operations.
  • Accountable for the strategic direction of all business aspects, including managing client escalations, tools, process adoption, KPIs, and managing to service metrics.
  • Managing day-to-day financial business operations to reduce potential risks to the overall business.
  • Collaboration across multiple functional leaders (Project Services, Implementation) to ensure smooth transitions of incoming projects within the Service Teams.
  • Deliberately builds capacity and capability for future growth of the Organization.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships both internally and externally at all levels of client and ADP organizations.
  • Drives a performance-based and learning culture that engages Service Teams to achieve excellence.
  • Contributes to improving client satisfaction scores (NPS); partners with client success teams to create action plans to address issues and improve client satisfaction as necessary.
  • Partners with internal teams to identify ways of increasing revenue and generating services in compliance with pricing policies.
  • Supports the delivery of various projects (outside of Project Service scope) to meet client expectations.
  • Collaborates with other Business Owners and Transformation Teams to continuously streamline Service Operations processes and tools while keeping clients at the center of any improvements.
  • Participates in and supports GV programs, strategic initiatives, stretch assignments, and collaboration opportunities with other business units.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Knowledge of SAP HR and ERP HR processes (ideally Payroll).
  • Experience managing US and/or Canada payroll teams and strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local notices required.
  • Previous experience in managing payroll in a multinational organization.
  • Growth mindset; understanding of Behavior-Driven Planning and resource scheduling.
  • Strong proven leadership and management capabilities.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements and quality controls.
  • Client-focused and committed to providing world-class service.
  • Good relationship management skills and successfully manage client escalations.
