To find out more about our organisation, visit our website THE OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Officer (Research & Resources) to join our team This role is responsible for developing diverse and impactful written content that underpins AIGI’s programs, services, publications, and online platforms. Working as part of the Research & Resources team, you will be key to transforming valuable research and data into accessible, high-quality educational materials and information. You will contribute to AIGI’s overall advocacy strategy and commitment to supporting Indigenous governance. Your main role responsibilities include: Primary and secondary research and analysis (both online and on-the-ground) to inform AIGI’s content and publications. Plan, develop and write a wide variety of written content relevant to program delivery, including educational materials for AIGI’s online platform. Contribute to the preparation of AIGI’s key documents, such as consultancy reports, manuals, literature reviews, training materials and funding applications. Participate in interviews to gather primary data. Manage content development projects, budgets, and grant development to ensure materials are prepared on budget and delivered to schedule. Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders and assist in forging new collaborative partnerships, particularly for the Indigenous Governance Toolkit. Support AIGI’s advocacy strategy by identifying opportunities for AIGI input and submission to government and other inquiries. Perform administrative functions as occasionally required, primarily related to current AIGI research and projects. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED To be successful in this role, you ideally have: A proven ability to prepare high-quality written content for various audiences, including research reports, educational materials, funding submissions, and web copy. Demonstrated experience with project planning and consistently working with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Deep cultural knowledge and lived experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities. Demonstrated ability to communicate respectfully and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Strong analytical and research skills essential for performing primary and secondary data analysis. Qualifications in relevant field (Indigenous studies, governance, research, or other relevant fields). Ability to work effectively both independently and within a distributed team, demonstrating strong coordination and critical thinking skills. Ability to travel as required. WHO ARE YOU?
