Overview

We are looking for a Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (VDI) Architect to join our team and help our clients transform their VDI infrastructure and migrate from VMware VDI to Azure VDI. You will be responsible for conducting customer workshops, gathering requirements, analyzing existing VDI infrastructure, creating design documents, migration strategy, transformation planning, and implementing AVD solutions. You will also provide technical guidance and best practices to ensure successful and smooth migration and adoption of AVD.

Responsibilities

Lead customer workshops and meetings to understand their business needs, challenges, and objectives related to VDI.Analyze the current state of the customer's VDI infrastructure, identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Create a high-level and detailed design document that outlines the AVD architecture, components, features, security, network, and integration aspects.Develop a migration strategy and plan that defines the scope, timeline, resources, and steps for migrating from VMware VDI to Azure VDI.Implement the AVD solution according to the design document and migration plan, using Azure best practices and tools.Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of the AVD solution, and resolve any issues or errors.Provide training, documentation, and support to the customer and their end-users on how to use and manage the AVD solution.Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and cost of the AVD solution, and provide recommendations for enhancements or upgrades.#LI-UG1You will be successful in this role if you have:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.At least 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing VDI solutions, preferably with VMware VDI or Citrix VDI.At least 4 years of experience in designing Azure services and features related to AVD, such as Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, and Azure Security Centre.Strong knowledge of VDI concepts, technologies, and best practices, such as desktop virtualization, application virtualization, user profile management, VDI security, and VDI optimization.Strong knowledge of Windows 10, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 applications and services.Strong knowledge of PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.Certification in Microsoft Azure or VMware VDI is a plus.Unisys is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that considers all qualified applicants without regard to age, blood type, caste, citizenship, color, disability, family medical history, family status, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, national origin, parental status, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, transgender status, veteran status or any other category protected by law.
