Site Reliability Engineer III- AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platform, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Infrastructure Design and Maintenance, Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS. Ensure the continuous improvement of infrastructure for optimal performance and efficiency. Automation and Scripting,develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment, configuration, and operational tasks. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate provisioning and management of AWS resources. Monitoring and Incident Response,Set up and maintain monitoring solutions to detect and respond to incidents proactively. Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents promptly, minimizing downtime. Performance Optimization, Conduct regular analysis of system and application performance, identifying and implementing optimizations. Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for optimal performance and scalability. Security and Compliance,Implement and enforce security best practices for AWS-hosted applications. Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaboration and Communication,Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and improve system reliability.  Provide support and guidance to development teams on best practices for AWS-hosted applications.  OnCall Support on rotational basis. Documentation, maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.  Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team and organization.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role. Strong proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Ruby. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect. Experience with serverless computing and AWS Lambda. Knowledge of application-level security practices. Previous experience with CI/CD pipelines.
