As a Facilities Officer, you’ll be responsible for delivering a wide range of maintenance and service activities across internal and external spaces, ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and welcoming. This hands-on role involves more than routine maintenance—you’ll assist with furniture relocations, office setups, and event preparations, while also supporting general facilities requests as directed by management. Working within a small, collaborative team, you’ll apply your technical skills and problem-solving ability to keep our campus running smoothly and efficiently. About the person The successful candidate will hold a recognised trade qualification and bring at least four years of relevant maintenance or mixed-trades experience. You’ll be confident using standard tools and equipment, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Key attributes include: Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritise tasks, and deliver quality outcomes Strong attention to detail when inspecting work areas, materials, and products for compliance with standards A proactive approach to problem-solving and commitment to safety and quality practices Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements Experience in an education or similar environment will be highly regarded. Salary details The salary for the position commences at $77,747.23 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with your skills, qualifications, and experience. Please note: The fixed term of this employment contract will be for up to 2 years, with 12 months' probation. The prospect of conversion to a continuing employment contract will be discussed at the end of the contract term.
