Exploratory Testing :


Functional Tester with API :


- Should have good Test idea generation, Scenario identification, Debugging skills, Bug reporting,

Questioning skills APIs


- Mandatory experience in API testing using Postman or Swagger or SOAP UI & web technologies


- Understanding of client-server systems, Caching & Cookies.


Mobile app Testers:


- Should have worked on both Android & IOS operating systems


- Worked on tools like Charles proxy, burp suite, android studio, Xcode, adb commands, other tools, test idea generation


Roles and Responsibilities


- Test Idea Generation and Scenario Identification


- Develop and document comprehensive test cases and scenarios for API testing.


- Identify and create test data needed for testing various API endpoints.


- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into testable scenarios.

API Testing


- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or SOAP UI.


- Verify the correctness of API responses, including data validation, status codes, and headers.


- Validate API functionality, performance, reliability, and security.


- Debugging and Bug Reporting


- Debug issues found during testing and work closely with developers to resolve them.


- Report bugs with clear and concise descriptions, steps to reproduce, and severity.


- Track and verify bug fixes to ensure resolutions are effective.


- Questioning Skills and API Understanding


- Proactively question and clarify API requirements and specifications.


- Ensure a thorough understanding of the API's functionality and intended use cases.


- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and potential issues.


- Understanding of Client-Server Systems, Caching, and Cookies


- Understand the client-server architecture and how APIs interact within this framework.


- Test API behaviors concerning caching mechanisms and cookies.


- Verify session management and data persistence across different API calls.


Collaboration and Communication :


- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on

testing goals and progress.


- Provide regular updates on testing status, issues found, and resolutions.


- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving API testing practices.


- Mobile App Tester


Roles and Responsibilities


- Testing on Android and iOS


- Conduct testing on both Android and iOS platforms to ensure cross-platform consistency.


- Validate app functionality, performance, and user experience on various devices and OS versions.


- Execute manual and automated tests to identify and document defects.


Tool Usage :


- Utilize tools like Charles Proxy and Burp Suite for network monitoring and security testing.


- Use Android Studio and Xcode for setting up test environments, building apps, and running tests.


- Employ adb commands for Android and relevant commands for iOS to interact with mobile devices and emulators.


Test Idea Generation


- Develop creative test ideas to cover all possible use cases and scenarios.


- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements and user stories.


- Identify edge cases and areas for exploratory testing.


Debugging and Bug Reporting


- Identify and report bugs with detailed descriptions and steps to reproduce.


- Use debugging tools and logs to trace and diagnose issues.


- Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and verify fixes.


Collaboration and Communication


- Work closely with development, product, and QA teams to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.


- Communicate effectively to provide insights, updates, and feedback on testing activities.


- Participate in agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and Improvement


- Continuously assess and refine testing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.


- Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in mobile app testing.


- Mentor junior testers and provide guidance on best practices and tools.

- Documentation and Reporting


- Maintain comprehensive documentation for test cases, test results, and testing processes.


- Generate detailed test reports and metrics to track progress and identify areas for Learning and Improvement


- Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in testing.


- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge.
