We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java, Lucene, and OpenSearch to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of innovative search solutions.

Position Summary:

As a Software Engineer at RoundCircle, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing search and data analysis systems using Java, Lucene, and OpenSearch. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create high-performance, scalable, and reliable search solutions that address complex information retrieval challenges. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java development, a deep understanding of search technologies, and a passion for building robust and efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Search Solution Development: Design, develop, and maintain search and data analysis solutions using Java, Lucene, and OpenSearch.

- Architecture and Design: Architect scalable, modular, and maintainable search systems that meet the performance and reliability requirements of our clients.

- Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize code, and ensure the scalability of search solutions.

- Information Retrieval: Work on various aspects of information retrieval, including indexing, querying, and relevance ranking.

- Query Parsing: Develop query parsing and analysis components to support advanced search capabilities.

- Data Integration: Integrate search solutions with various data sources and databases.

- API Development: Design and implement APIs for accessing search functionalities.

- Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and functionality of search systems.

- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, code documentation, and best practices.

- Stay Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in search technologies, including Lucene and OpenSearch.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on Java development, Lucene, and OpenSearch.

- Expert proficiency in Java and a deep understanding of search technologies and information retrieval.

- Hands-on experience with Lucene and OpenSearch, including customization and optimization.

- Knowledge of search algorithms, data structures, and query optimization.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.

- Experience with cloud-based search solutions and distributed systems is a plus.
