About our team Chief Operating Officer Group | Enterprise Technology Services | Technology Operations & Support | TOSB Strategic Operations Section The Technology Operations & Support Branch (TOSB) is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Departments ICT infrastructure and software platforms that underpin all Home Affairs applications. The TOSB Strategic Operations section leads strategic planning and investment coordination across the branch, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term goals. The team manages financial planning, governance frameworks, and enterprise branch risk processes to support sound decision-making and operational resilience. A core focus is proactive engagement with senior executives and Business Areas to provide clear visibility of risks, dependences, and strategic initiatives. Through strong partnerships and forward-looking planning, the section helps position the branch for sustainable, trusted service delivery across the organisation. Our ideal candidate Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing ICT communication strategies to support organisational/team priorities Experience working in large complex ICT environments, delivering high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines while maintain stakeholder trust and in being resilient under pressure Strong capability in translating strategic direction into actionable initiatives with measurable outcomes Skilled in preparing high-quality written material and presenting clear, persuasive advise to the Executive and diverse audiences Experience in working collaboratively across teams, functions, and external partners to achieved shared outcomes. Duties and responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of change, including transition planning and support arrangements for new capabilities, ensuring alignment to strategic and corporate goals Provide strategic advice and analysis to the Executive on direction, risks, opportunities and performance Provide strategic direction to a work area, including developing business plans, strategies and priorities and monitor workflow and performance Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, while overseeing resource management to collaboratively manage expectations and deliver key outcomes Lead and promote a strong risk management culture within the branch, ensuring alignment with Departmental frameworks while encouraging innovation and best practice. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and: ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC). Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check. In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
