Database Developer

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop and maintain databases using MS Access, Oracle, SQL Server, and other data sources.
  • Troubleshoot connection issues between the Access UI and data sources.
  • Convert current Access UI applications to IT supported solutions.
  • Analyze and optimize database performance and efficiency.
  • Pull data from various sources and run ad-hoc reports upon request.
  • Maintain existing database applications and the reports they generate; troubleshoot and resolve any
  • issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other developers and clients to ensure system consistency and quality.
  • Document database design, development, and maintenance processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest data security procedures and comply with data protection laws.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.
Knowledge/skills :
  • Knowledge of ETS systems and data contained in each (i.e., STN Manager; Unify; eReg; IMS; CRDS;
  • TCM) a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of data management and database design principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Access, Oracle, SQL Server, and other data sources.
  • Experience with T-SQL, PL SQL, Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft SSMS and SQL Developer.
  • Strong experience with C# required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
  • BS degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
  • 5-7 years of applicable developer experience.
  • Proven work experience as a Database Developer or similar role.
