DevOps Specialist

Job Title: Devops Lead

As a GCP (Google Cloud Platform) DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and deployment pipelines on Google Cloud. You will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure efficient and reliable cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.

- Implement best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.

2. Deployment Automation:

- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment of applications and services.

- Utilize tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Google Cloud Build for automated build and deployment processes.

3. Monitoring and Performance Optimization:

- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.

4. Security and Compliance:

- Implement security best practices and compliance requirements on GCP.

- Ensure data protection, access control, and network security measures are in place.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and provide infrastructure support.

- Collaborate with operations and security teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

6. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

- Document infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.

- Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster continuous learning and improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, preferably with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.

- Strong knowledge of GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Networking.

- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.

- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Google Cloud Build.

- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Grafana.

- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards in cloud environments.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

- Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer certification (preferred).

- Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect can be advantageous.
