Job Title: Field Assistant – Seed Production (Paddy/Cotton/Maize)

Location: Attur

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience Required: Fresher or 1 year experience.

Education: Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture.

Job Summary

To ensure timely and quality seed production of paddy, cotton, and maize by guiding farmers in adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), monitoring field activities, and supporting post-harvest processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor crop growth stages and production activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to farmers on sowing, irrigation, pest control, and nutrient management specific to paddy, cotton, and maize.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality standards throughout the crop cycle.
  • Record and report daily field observations to the supervisor.
  • Supervise proper packing, tagging, and dispatch of harvested seeds for processing.
  • Assist in yield estimation and post-harvest quality checks.
  • Build strong rapport with farmers to ensure cooperation and timely interventions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of crop production techniques for paddy, cotton, and maize
  • Familiarity with pest and disease management practices
  • Ability to conduct quality checks and ensure SOP compliance
  • Strong observation and reporting skills
  • Effective communication and listening abilities
  • Willingness to work in rural field conditions

Preferred Attributes

  • Exposure to seed production or farm extension activities
  • Knowledge of local agricultural practices and seasonal crop calendars
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new farming technologies
  • Basic understanding of GPS or field mapping tools (preferred but not mandatory)
