This role is critical in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our business intelligence and application solutions built on the Microsoft Power Platform. The ideal candidate will be an expert in designing and executing test strategies for Power BI dashboards and Power Apps, with a strong emphasis on test automation to enhance our QA processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Develop, document, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Power BI dashboards, Power Apps solutions, and their integrations.
  • Validate data accuracy, metrics, functionality, performance, and visual rendering in Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Thoroughly test Power Apps functionality, including UI/UX, forms, business rules, workflows, and data connections.
  • Identify, document, report, and track defects and inconsistencies using JIRA.
  • Conduct regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure stability after new releases or enhancements.

2. Automation and Process Improvement:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust test automation frameworks for Power Platform solutions (Power BI & Power Apps) to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Create and maintain reusable test automation scripts and templates for future projects.

3. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and define comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Communicate test progress, results, metrics, and defect reports clearly and effectively to stakeholders and project managers.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and provide critical input from a quality assurance perspective.

Key Skills and Competencies (Must Have):

  • 6+ years of experience
    in software quality assurance, with a significant focus on testing
    Power BI
    (DAX, Power Query, Data Models) and
    Power Apps
    (Canvas & Model-driven).
  • Proven hands-on experience in test automation.
    Must be able to design and write automated tests for Power Platform components.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and proficiency in
    SQL
    for complex data validation and backend testing.
  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking and project management tools, specifically
    JIRA
    .
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the SDLC.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a QA Tester in a Power Platform environment (Power BI & Power Apps).
