We believe that’s what makes us truly different Due to an internal promotion, we are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Chef to manage the kitchen and preparation of meals at Bethanie Joondanna Aged Care Home. Our very first site, Bethanie Joondanna is a 60 bed facility with two buildings set amongst a lush garden setting and provides support for people with high care requirements and dementia. To be successful in this role, you will have experience managing a kitchen efficiently and preparing food that is nutritious, well presented and within budget constraints. The successful candidate will be available to work the following roster for this permanent part-time position; Week 1 – Thursday & Friday 7am – 3.30pm, Saturday & Sunday 6am – 2pm Week 2 – Thursday & Friday 7am – 3.30pm and Saturday 6am – 2pm About You Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as, a Chef or Cook for large groups of people, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery Ability to supervise other members of staff Experience in ordering food stuffs and awareness of waste management Excellent time management skills Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards Code Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one) The Role Manage the preparation and cooking of meals on site, including ordering of food stuffs Prepare appetising and nutritious meals using fresh ingredients Assist in menu development Manage and develop a small team, including training staff on appropriate food presentation and preparation techniques Understand and deliver special dietary requirements for our residents Managing the catering for small functions Undertake responsibility of daily food safe documentation and ensure compliance is met Working with Bethanie Many of us work because we want to make a difference.
