Sr. DBA Employee Role.ResponsibilitiesSupport the full lifecycle of NoSQL and SQL databases, from development to mission-critical production systemsEstablish, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standardsDevelop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Database Management SystemsMonitor backups and maintenance jobs to ensure smooth operationIdentify and optimize poorly performing queriesAssist in ad-hoc query development and data analysisMinimize database downtime and optimize parameters to ensure quick query responsesConduct regular tests and evaluations to uphold data security, privacy, and integrityMonitor database performance, implement necessary changes, and apply updates when requiredQualifications:8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role supporting NoSQL and SQL databasesExperience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, mongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse and other DBMS requiredExperience to deploy databases in GCP cloud using terraformProficiency in instance, database, and query tuning to enhance database/application performanceExperience with query/programming languages such as PL/SQL, SQL, PythonExpertise to read python application code, debug and troubleshoot DB performance issues.Experience to write simple python scripts to administer databases.Solid foundational knowledge of Infrastructure/Networking, particularly in understanding protocols connecting networks to databasesStrong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills for effective collaboration with business partners, peer IT resources, and management at all levelsAbility to think logically, analyze performance data, and draw appropriate conclusionsEagerness and enthusiasm to learn niche database administration skillsBachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
