Overview:
We are looking for an experienced data engineer to join our team. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data systems. Overall, you’ll strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.
To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of machine learning methods.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Evaluating the existing data sources (data, flows, tools etc) and identifying the gaps to determine the best solutions in line with the requirements from Data Analytics users
Analysing databases and processes to identify and recommend improvements and optimization (example, DataMart, Campaign databases Alternate data, etc).
The Data Engineer is also responsible for developing and implementing scripts for database maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning
Analysing complex data elements and systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models
Ensuring reusability of developed scripts, flows and methodologies to allow quicker and reliable provision of analytics and campaign projects
Documenting all developed flows and processes by ensuring high quality standards are met
Managing recurrent data processing flows and ensure they meet quality standards
Discussing and recommending technical developments to improve quality of the applications software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
Evaluating, developing and maintaining data privacy and security policies, procedures and systems and maintaining consistent adherence to ethical standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational qualification – Bachelors (IIT) / Master in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) from any reputed institute
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in FMCG / ecommerce / fintech.
Experience with modern programming language (Python, Scala, Java, etc.), data modelling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
Data Warehousing Experience with Redshift, PostgreSQL, S3, AWS API Gateway, etc.
Experience with AWS big data technologies and ability to perform Data Modeling (Dimensional, Star, Normalized, etc)
Understanding and experience to set up Metadata management like Data Dictionary, Data Glossary, Data Lineage for Data Governance aspects of the project.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
A drive to learn and master new technologies, techniques, and digital banking.
