We are looking for a highly motivated engineering driven sourcing specialist to drive the cost productivity across Business Units’ products. The sourcing specialist’s responsibilities include analyzing the BOM, segregate opportunities for cost productivity for plastics components. Drive engineering changes if required. Should have hands on experience in releasing manufacturing drawings. 
To be a successful sourcing specialist, he should be able to work with the relevant departments to ensure that costs remain within budget. A high-performing sourcing specialist should be able to develop and implement innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies.
Sourcing Specialist Responsibilities :
• Be an integral part of an engineering team and act as liaison between Suppliers and Global Sourcing team.
• Release the manufacturing drawings.
• Perform ‘should cost’ analysis of Plastics components and set realistic cost targets.
• Identifying the suitable materials for designs and creating and releasing BOM
• Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
• Develop inventory optimization strategies within the company.
• Identifying the opportunities of cost reduction by various means like part rationalization, material change, supplier consolidation etc.
• Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
• Work with Global Supply team for the process support.
• Ensure the supplier follows through the supplier quality commitment and respond to technical queries from supplier.
• Keep updates on technological improvements across the industry and suggesting most efficient approach in sourcing/prototyping new components.
Educational Qualification: 
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in relevant Mechanical or Polymer Engineering streams with minimum 5 years of experience of dealing with plastics components.
• Tool designers from NTTF, GTTC, CIPET & IGTR and product designers from NTTF are also preferred.
Sourcing Specialist Requirements:
• Good Knowledge of Plastic component manufacturing processes 
• Good knowledge in Plastics parts design, development and tooling
• Sound knowledge of various grades of resigns/plastics and its properties
• Good Knowledge on Rapid prototyping
• Must be very good and hands on with 2D & 3D (prefer - SolidWorks.)
• Proven experience in plastic component sourcing processes
• Good understanding of VAVE and NPD processes
• Experience of working with Global team members especially from USA, Europe, Australia and China.
• Excellent English spoken & written skills.

Relationships: 
• Primarily has to work closely with Global sourcing team and Engineering team.
• Need to interact with Quality as well as Product Management team
• Suitably need to interact with existing and ‘willing to’ Suppliers 
• Periodically need to interact with internal Product
