Qualifications
- B.Ed.- A degree in ENGLISH is a must.- Evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' teaching experience with learners in Senior and Secondary Years.- Successful experience of teaching ENGLISH.- Experience of virtual teaching and knowledge of blended learning.- Experience of being a class teacher.
Job Description
- Accountable for students' progress by being aware of their capabilities and planning the teaching to build on these.- Demonstrate good subject knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and curriculum areas.- Foster and maintain students' interest in the subject, and address doubts.- Encourage students to take a responsible attitude to their own work and study.- Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy, and the correct use of standard English.- Promote a love of learning and encourage children's intellectual curiosity.- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.- Set homework and plan other out-of-class activities to consolidate and extend the knowledge and understanding students have acquired.- Make use of formative and summative assessments to secure students' progress.- Give students regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking, and encourage students to respond to the feedback.- Work with parents in the best interests of enabling students to fulfil their potential.- Promote good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the School in accordance with the School's Code of Conduct.- Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside School.- Carry out professional duties as may be required by the Director, Head Teacher or the Wing Head.

- Treats students with dignity, builds relationships rooted in mutual respect, and always observes proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher's professional position.- Knows how to use ICT to support their teaching and wider professional activities.- Able to form positive and productive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.- An excellent record of punctuality and attendance.- Good interpersonal skills and ability to empathise.- Motivate self and others and effectively collaborate with team members.- Has emotional resilience and the ability to work under pressure.
