Job Description – Senior Site Engineer (Erection & Commissioning)

Position Title: Senior Site Engineer – Erection & Commissioning

Department: Projects / Execution

Location: Project Sites (PAN India & Overseas as required)

Reports To: Project Manager / Project Head

Role Overview

The Senior Site Engineer will lead the erection, testing, and commissioning of systems supplied by the company. This role requires managing site teams, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring timely project delivery with adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, supervise, and execute erection and commissioning activities.

- Review foundation readiness, alignment, and installation quality.

- Lead pre-commissioning checks, testing, troubleshooting, and final commissioning.

- Coordinate with design, procurement, and fabrication teams for execution support.

- Manage and supervise site manpower, contractors, and subcontractors.

- Ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and safety norms.

- Prepare detailed daily/weekly progress reports and ensure project milestones are achieved.

- Handle client interactions at site and ensure smooth handover after commissioning.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong technical expertise in erection and commissioning of industrial equipment.

- Ability to read and interpret GA drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.

- Leadership skills with the ability to manage site teams and contractors.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

- Good communication and client-handling skills.

Qualifications & Experience

- Education: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

- Experience: 5–10 years in erection and commissioning of heavy equipment/material handling systems/pollution control systems/industrial plants.

Other:

- Willingness to travel extensively and manage site responsibilities independently.

- Experience in handling large-scale projects will be preferred.
