A QS-Tendering/BD Engineer prepares and manages bids for new projects, involving cost estimation, proposal development, and ensuring technical and commercial bid compliance as per tender documents, client requirements and regulations.

Key responsibilities include manage the bid process through E-Procurement Portals and submitting the tenders on the portal on time and having strong analytical, communication, technical, and project management skills are essential for success in this role

Key Responsibilities

  • Proposal & Bid Preparation:

Create comprehensive technical and commercial bids, ensuring they meet all tender documents, client specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Cost Estimation:

Analyze project requirements to develop accurate cost estimates and ensure the profitability of bids. Rate analysis

  • Client & Internal Coordination:

Work closely with Finance, Respective business verticals, engineering teams to understand Tender/client needs and gather information for smooth submission of tenders in the E-portal

  • Bid Process Management:

Oversee the entire tendering process domestic and international, from initial inquiry to final submission and follow-up with technical and commercial queries

  • Compliance to Tender:

Ensure all tenders (Technical Bid & Price Bid) are compliant with technical, commercial, and contractual requirements of Tender.

  • Documentation & Record-Keeping:

Maintain organized records of submitted tenders and their updates in the web portal

  • Responsible for Quantity Survey from tender documents/drawings, Data of items of work and rate analysis of above verticals
  • Involve and play an active Role on site Surveys, Attend Pre-bid meeting/evaluation and finalization of projects cost.
  • Accountable for complete Cost Estimates and Rate Analysis.
  • Having knowledge in relevant codes of practice of Indian Road Congress (IRC), Indian standards and Ministry of Road Transportation & Highways (MORTH) specifications, codes and etc.
  • Able to complete pre-bid obligations like submitting technical bid & Price bid
  • Shall prepare requisite correspondence with departments concerned in course of bidding process.
  • Any other tasks/works assigned by the line Manager from time to time.

Essential Skills

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth technical expertise relevant to the company's above mentioned business verticals
  • Analytical & Research Skills: Ability to analyze Tender/client requirements and perform necessary actions to acheive
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with internal departments and external agencies (Consultants, JV partners) if any
  • Attention to Detail: Essential for ensuring accuracy and compliance in bid documents.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within the tendering process.
  • Problem-Solving: To address challenges that arise during the bidding process.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and project management software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
