As a Senior Manager for Software Development, you will be defining the long-term strategies, setting the direction to leaders, and leading leaders to deliver the vision. You will be working in a fast-paced startup kind of environment requiring high velocity decision making. You will be effectively partnering and influencing the stakeholders and communicating with senior leaders toward Ring’s mission. You will be raising the customer experience bar as we invent rapidly on behalf of our millions customers.Key job responsibilitiesYou will be the STO for a Ring platform core software providing safety to millions of customers with innovative technology.You communicate effectively (both oral and written) with senior leaders and stakeholders cutting across the geographies and functions.You will be defining the high-level vision for a Ring platform and setting the long-term direction for the team.You will be adept with architecture, business drivers, and technologies and retain appropriate levels of hands-on management while having a strategic focus.You will be developing an young org of engineers and managers, setting up the right team structures, and establishing scalable mechanisms to deliver safety for our neighbourhoods.You are able to decompose complex problems into straight-forward solutions. You consistently bring strong, data-driven business, and technical judgment to decisions. You set the standards.As a leader of leaders, you take the time to grow successful senior engineers and managers through collaborative development planning, coaching, and strategic project assignment.You champion software engineering and operational excellence best practices in your team and influence other teams in larger Ring organization.About the teamRing offers smart security solutions that are dependable and reliable to make neighbourhoods safer. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of engineering experience- 5+ years of engineering team management experience- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience- Experience partnering with product or program management teams- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience partnering with product and program management teams- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, C++ or Java, object-oriented and service- oriented Architecture- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field- Experience in leading device software development teams.- Experience in designing and developing firmware and applications on devices.
