Location: Bishops Stortford - These roles are based in our new offices in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Electrical Fitter with experience in energy or electricity networks to join our team and accelerate our growing Smart Devices function.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building devices to a high quality and reliability. They will be expected to work as part of a small team to build electrical systems and equipment from detailed engineering drawings, at our manufacturing facilities in Bishops Stortford. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in the energy sector and to contribute to the growth and success of our company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Construction of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Testing, fault-finding and process control
  • Installation of equipment at our customer’s locations worldwide.
  • Reading engineering drawings.
  • To ensure quality and safety standards are met and components are tracked.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Significant hands-on experience of electrical equipment, assembly, and machine building. Must possess a strong understanding of electrical principles.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC), and the ability to adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools for electrical and electronic build, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to interpret and understand electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to plan and execute electrical work accurately.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults, identifying problems, and implementing effective solutions
  • Ability to work meticulously, maintain records and pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with team members, supervisors, and clients, and provide updates on work progress.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, work environments, and conditions, and remain flexible in response to unexpected challenges or obstacles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • City & Guilds, ONC or HNC qualification in Engineering discipline.
  • Be trained to the current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, (BS7671)
  • Hold a current Electrical Fitters ECS card
  • Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.

  • Ability to travel: Full, clean driving licence & Passport
