PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor, execute, and report on daily inventory control functions including DC & store-to-store transfers, RTV processing and other ad hoc requests Identify, recommend and implement process improvements for daily store and corporate inventory control activities Reconcile retail inventory accounts, including on hand, in transit, and obsolescence Analyze and reconcile store physical inventory results aimed at identifying inventory shrink issues and trends; provide recommendations to field management Collaborate with Retail Operations, Retail Loss Prevention, Retail Accounting and Retail Merchandising to implement inventory control programs to reduce shrink-related loss Analyze and document physical inventory processes and procedures. Recommend, implement and document improvements where appropriate

SCOPE

Works under some supervision. Work is generally reviewed for accuracy. Works on semi-complex tasks within the job function where some evaluation & judgment is required. The incumbent works on projects of moderate complexity utilizing established policies and procedures but is expected to improve practices and procedures if necessary.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal & customer service skills. Attention to detail and track record of timely execution. Strong organizational, time-management, and project management skills. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Advanced MS Excel skills. Intermediate business analytics skills (including statistical analysis & forecasting). Must be able to perform basic math and use computerized accounting systems for journal entry preparation, auditing, and balance sheet reconciliation.

BUSINESS IMPACT

Solves a variety of problems that may be somewhat difficult & varied in nature. May consult with upper level staff on more complex technical issues. Impact is defined by quality and timeliness of projects.

LEADERSHIP/ SUPERVISION

May provide on the job training to other employees.

INTERNAL / EXTERNAL CONTACTS

Contacts are made with others inside and outside the organization. Interactions focus on information exchange. Incumbent initiates contacts on their own or by request through face-to-face interaction or via email/phone. Meetings can be coordinated when needed and meaningful contributions are expected during the meeting.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.

RELATED EXPERIENCE DESIRED

5+ years demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices, procedures, and daily activities

Ability to review and analyze financial statements and accounts 

Ability to research and analyze large amounts of data

Aptitude in Microsoft Office, with a high level of experience in Excel
