Job Description -Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). 5+ years of proven work experience in software testing / quality assurance with basic programming concepts.Experience: Engineer Software Quality Test understands product requirements, focuses on improving product testing processes and preventing defects in production. Manages a team to test a range of applications from high-stakes engineering software solutions to control and monitor high-end control systems. Should be able to quickly turn-around a test plan ensuring traceability to the technical requirements and can execute the test plan. Works in a team and contributes to the immediate team. Contributes to quality engineering and automation roadmap.Objective/Purpose:Be able to manage and work on a project-by project basis for product/solution testing and work in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment. Monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure quality and keep abreast with the latest industry trends in testing tools and automations. You shall have a strong passion for checking if the product complies with the requirements, assessing any risks, planning, and executing tests and analyzing the test results. Must have knowledge in all the testing stages of software development and deployment.Key Responsibilities:You will be managing a team to test a range of applications from high-stakes engineering software solutions to control and monitor high-end software control systems.Manage and execute project plans and deliver commitments within a professional, high-paced engineering environmentInterface with our internal/external customers to understand requirements, set priorities, and communicate direction and progressDrive improvements in software quality practicesOversee and direct the development of new test frameworks and applications to ensure the implementation of manual and automated test solutionsContribute to test process, tools, and methodologies to include both manual as well as automated test executionInterpret requirements for testability and ensure coverage in test case design.Present test plan to leads and product owner for approval prior to execution.Work closely with the scrum team to drive, implement, and maintain tests in an agile environment.Assess impact of design changes to determine optimal level of testing.Develop methods and perform load and performance testing.Integrate testing with continuous-integration process.Troubleshooting mindset, an ability to break down a system or process systematically and effectively into subparts to identify failure mechanisms.Ensure proper analysis and documentation of test results.Actively participate in team retrospectives to recommend and implement improvements to test strategy and planning.Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills.Ensure all testing deliverables are of high quality and compliant.Experience in bug management tools like JIRA.Perform in-depth regression testing when bugs are resolved.Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new test and automation techniques, and better assist other team members.Participate in all aspects of SDLC (analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation). Work within an Agile team, participating in ceremonies related to the Agile framework. Support cross-functional teams in requirements analysis, design reviews, code reviews, deploying, and maintaining the product / tool.Drive automation strategies, testing best practices and ensure test code is of the highest quality.Technical Expertise:Required:Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly within engineering teams developing software delivering full systems5+ years of proven work experience in software testing / quality assurance with web-based applications, mobile applications, and client-server applicationsFamiliarity with Agile Scrum methodologyHands-on experience in manual API testingExperience in automation testing using Selenium or similar frameworksSolid knowledge of SQL and scriptingExcellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills.Knowledge of Design Patterns & Data StructuresWorking knowledge of the various types of testing, from functional testing to performance and mobile/browser compatibilityA passion for technology with demonstrated ability to learn quicklyUnderstanding of the web/desktop application development cycle and programming techniques and toolsExcellent project and time management skills.Ability to work independently or with a group.Ability to participate in working sessions that result in clear technical requirements and technical design while working with technical, non-technical membersAbility to write Java code for the purposes of testing solution code (e.g., white-box testing).Desired:Understanding in Energy & Utilities solutions.Unix and Shell scripting basicsUnderstanding of key UI design principlesExperience with standard set of Java developments tools including IDEs, build frameworks, source code control and other ALM tools.PMP Certified
