RSM has an opportunity for a highly motivated Lead Database Reliability Engineer (DRE) who has a passion for orchestrating site resiliency and DRE/SRE standards/technologies. You will work alongside our top-notch IT professionals supporting RSM’s modern information technology infrastructure and data platform. You’ll be a leading member of a team who is responsible for the performance and reliability of data systems across datacenter and cloud solutions You will be expected to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements to automate manual processes, improve application performance, and optimize data delivery. You’ll be responsible for building and optimizing SQL processes to support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management. Outside of your team, you’ll collaborate with other engineering and development teams to build tools, applications, and services that improve our ability to provide reliable and performant services.You’ll be challenged to create innovative solutions to legacy and cloud compute as well as new concepts, ideas, and continuous process improvement. You will demonstrate and maintain high standards while fostering a proactive, efficient, and service-oriented work environment.Communication and professionalism are paramount as you will be representing RSM Technical Services to effectively engage with technical and business leadership, as well as external providers of IT services. You will also use all your abilities to explain solutions and complex issues while demonstrating the ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to other team members.

Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for the design, configuration, support, and maintenance of data platforms. Identifies changes to product architecture from the reliability, performance and availability perspective with a data driven approach focused on relational databases. Implements SRE/DevOps standards for data technologies and continually improves upon these processes and technologies. Design, implement and automate continuous integrations pipelines for major data technologies in a templatized IaC format for reusability across the Enterprise, utilizing market leading IaC tools, services, and technologies. Monitors and manages system health, functionality and availability related to database and other related data services. Install, configure, secure, and maintain multi-tiered environments across multiple regions. Develop and implement technical standards, procedures, and techniques for the resolution of Enterprise IT system problems to ensure maximum application availability and performance.

Participates in scheduled and unscheduled weekend/after-hours system maintenance and support using established change management procedures.Performs rotational on-call duty.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, equivalent work history/experience or working towards achieving a degree

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Advanced knowledge Azure and On-Prem SQL Server - Required Troubleshooting of complex distributed environments - Required Management of Public Cloud Offerings (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, ADO) – Required Advanced Scripting Skills (PowerShell, Terraform, C#, .NET) - Required Proficient with SQL Performance Tuning and System Optimization - Required Data Technology Platform Monitoring experience – Required Strong background with Data Warehousing, and Operational Data Stores - Preferred Working knowledge of Azure DevOps – Preferred 3rd Party Tools (Veeam, ServiceNow, Teams, and MS SCOM) - Preferred

EXPERIENCE

9+ years of MS SQL DBA experience - Required 6+ Experience with Public Cloud Solutions (Azure) – Required 2+ year of experience as lead SQL DBA on moderate to large projects - Required ETL Development, and support experience using SSIS and ADF– Required Proven experience with development languages (T-SQL, PowerShell,) - Required Strong unstructured Data Technology experience i.e., Cosmos DB, Mongo, Data Bricks - Preferred Experience with and using Infrastructure as Code technologies – Preferred Experience with IT audit standards - SOC II, and ISQM – Preferred.
