Job Title: Senior Data Scientist Location:  DLF Cybercity, Porur, Chennai- India Experience: 8 - 12 Years About the Job : We are looking for a highly skilled and impact-oriented Senior Data Scientist to design, develop, and scale machine learning solutions that support critical decision-making across Credit Risk, Customer Growth, Marketing, and Operations in our Retail Banking division. This is a high-visibility Individual Contributor role, responsible for delivering production-grade models that directly drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data-driven problem solving, with a strong track record of translating complex datasets into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Product Managers, and Business Stakeholders to build end-to-end solutions that enable both real-time and batch inference in a high-performance, production environment. Job Responsibilities: The candidate must be able to independently manage his/ her own workstream and effectively collaborate with other regional teams. Develop and deploy machine learning models to support key business areas such as Credit Risk, Fraud Detection, Customer Segmentation, Marketing Optimization, and Collections Strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Product Managers, Engineers) across Chennai, Manila, and Singapore to deliver production-grade ML solutions aligned with business goals. End-to-End Ownership: Drive the full lifecycle of ML solutions—from data exploration, feature engineering, and algorithm selection to deployment and performance monitoring. Build scalable data pipelines and model inference workflows (real-time and batch) to integrate predictive solutions into core banking and customer-facing platforms. Ensure model governance by adhering to regulatory and compliance standards in financial services environments. Preferred Experience and Qualification: Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in computer science/ Statistics/ Data Science/ Engineering 8+ years of hands-on experience in data science, with a focus on applying machine learning in banking or fintech domains Strong programming skills in Python, SQL , and experience with tools such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow, or PyTorch Experience in building credit risk models for Retail Banks, B2C FinTech’s, NBFCs, System Integrators, SaaS-based Banking Platforms , or Product-led Financial Services companies is highly desirable.
