Overview

The Cyber Security Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security solutions for a Global System Integrator (GSI). This role involves working on various aspects of cyber security, including Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), Security Operations Center (SOC) operations, Red Teaming, Application Security, and Cloud Security. The Cyber Security Architect will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure robust security posture and compliance with relevant standards.


Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT)
  • Conduct Vulnerability Assessments : Perform regular vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses in client systems, networks, and applications.
  • Penetration Testing : Conduct penetration testing to simulate cyber attacks and assess the effectiveness of security controls.
  • Reporting : Prepare detailed reports of findings, including risk assessments and recommendations for remediation.
  • Remediation Guidance : Work with IT teams to prioritize and implement remediation efforts based on the assessment findings.
2. Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • SOC Design and Implementation : Design and implement SOC solutions to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents.
  • Incident Response : Develop and oversee incident response protocols and coordinate response efforts during security incidents.
  • Threat Intelligence : Integrate threat intelligence feeds and analytics to enhance SOC capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement : Regularly review and update SOC processes and technologies to ensure they meet evolving security needs.
3. Red Teaming
  • Red Team Exercises : Plan and conduct Red Team exercises to test the organization’s defenses against advanced threats.
  • Attack Simulations : Simulate advanced persistent threats (APTs) and other sophisticated attacks to evaluate security posture.
  • Tactical Recommendations : Provide actionable recommendations to improve defenses based on Red Team findings.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with Blue Team to enhance detection and response capabilities.
4. Application Security
  • Secure Development Practices : Promote and integrate secure coding practices within the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Code Reviews and Testing : Perform static and dynamic code analysis to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Application Security Assessments : Conduct security assessments for web and mobile applications to ensure they meet security standards.
  • Developer Training : Provide training and guidance to development teams on best practices for application security.
5. Cloud Security
  • Cloud Security Architecture : Design and implement security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Compliance and Governance : Ensure cloud deployments comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
  • Identity and Access Management : Implement robust IAM policies and practices to secure cloud resources.
  • Cloud Security Posture Management : Use CSPM tools to continuously monitor and improve cloud security posture.
6. General Responsibilities
  • Security Strategy and Roadmap : Develop and maintain the overall cyber security strategy and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Stakeholder Management : Communicate security strategies and initiatives to stakeholders, including executive leadership and clients.
  • Risk Management : Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across the organization and client environments.
  • Policy Development : Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Technology Evaluation : Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Security Awareness : Promote a culture of security awareness through regular training and awareness programs.
  • Collaboration and Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Required Qualifications
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Certifications : Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, AWS Certified Security, etc.
  • Experience : Extensive experience in cyber security roles, with a focus on architecture and strategic planning.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in security technologies and practices, including VAPT, SOC operations, Red Teaming, Application Security, and Cloud Security.
  • Soft Skills : Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of advanced threat detection and response technologies.
  • Experience in managing security for large-scale cloud environments.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
