Roles & Responsibilities
- The Senior Engineer - IT Network and Security plays a critical role in PTC's IT department, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT network infrastructures while ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance. This position demands expertise in network architecture, cybersecurity protocols, IT infrastructure management, and regulatory compliance, including ISO 27001 standards and data protection laws.
Key Responsibilities Develop and manage anti-virus solutions to safeguard network and server security.
- Implement and monitor security protocols for LAN networks to ensure secure operations.
- Administer and troubleshoot issues related to Virtual Area Networks (VAN) for seamless connectivity.
- Manage and optimize firewall configurations to protect internet access and corporate data.
- Monitor and enhance internet services for operational efficiency.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain servers, addressing troubleshooting needs proactively.
- Oversee data backup and restoration processes using Network Attached Storage (NAS).
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot specialized software such as Solidworks, Magma, Dell CAM, and Pro Cast.
- Provide technical support for users of enterprise software and specialized applications.
- Address and resolve minor software issues in robotic arms and CNC machines.
- Ensure effective implementation, maintenance, and user support for SYNCRO systems, including user account management and patch updates.
- Monitor the performance and functionality of ERP software and troubleshoot issues.
- Manage the renewal and compliance of software licenses for all critical applications.
- Track license expiration dates and handle renewals promptly to avoid disruptions.
- Resolve hardware issues related to laptops, desktops, and other IT equipment.
- Supervise hardware maintenance, repairs, and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and AMC contractors to ensure quality service delivery.
- Manage and enhance the security of SMART glass systems and resolve associated issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies for the safe and eco-friendly disposal of electronic waste (E-Waste).
- Conduct Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Implement and maintain IT controls to align with ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) requirements.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of data compliance regulations, including GDPR, and other relevant standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education and Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CISA, CCNP, CEH, CISSP, or similar are highly desirable.
Experience
- Experience 3–6 years of experience as a Network Engineer, Security Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on IT infrastructure and cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security appliances.
- Proven expertise in VAPT tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., MPLS, QoS, WAN) and monitoring tools.
- Strong understanding of ISO 27001 ISMS frameworks, implementation, and audits.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and industry standards for IT security and data protection.
- Technical and Functional Competencies Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, standards, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for both network and application layers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Proficiency in project management and independent task execution.
- Expertise in data compliance and privacy standards, including audits and risk assessments.
