The role of an IT Systems & Infrastructure Engineer is critical in ensuring the smooth functioning and optimization of a company's IT infrastructure, especially with experience in implementing and managing Zoho products such as Zoho endpoint and service desk. Here is a brief overview of the responsibilities and skills typically associated with this role:

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Design and Maintenance:

- Design, implement, and manage the company's IT infrastructure.

- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of systems and networks.

System Administration:

- Administer servers, including installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems.

- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.

Network Management:

- Design, implement, and manage network architecture, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

- Troubleshoot network issues and optimize network performance.

Security:

- Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

- Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with security policies.

Backup and Recovery:

- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies for critical systems and data.

- Test and verify backups to ensure data integrity and availability.

Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other IT professionals, such as developers and support teams, to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.

Technical Support:

- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.

- Participate in the resolution of escalated support tickets.

Documentation:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.

Capacity Planning:

- Monitor and analyze system performance and plan for capacity upgrades as needed.

Emerging Technologies:

- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for their implementation.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Proficiency:

- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).

- Proficiency in network protocols, architecture, and security.

- Expertise in implementing and managing Zoho products such as Zoho endpoint and service

Server Administration:

- Experience in server installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Networking:

- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching.

- Familiarity with firewall and VPN configurations.

Security:

- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.

- Experience with implementing security measures.

Problem-Solving:

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Communication:

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Team Collaboration:

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior team members.

Certifications:

- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate can be beneficial.
