Job Description: L2 Checkpoint Firewall and Cloud Guard Administrator


Key Responsibilities:


1. Firewall Configuration and Management:

- Implement, configure, and maintain Checkpoint Firewall and Cloud guard solutions to secure the organization's network infrastructure.

- Create and manage firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and virtual private network (VPN) configurations to ensure network security.

- Perform regular firewall audits and rule reviews to identify and mitigate potential security risks.


2. Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

- Monitor network security alerts and logs to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.

- Investigate and troubleshoot security-related issues, identifying the root cause and implementing appropriate remediation measures.


3. Network Security Policy Enforcement:

- Enforce security policies and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with the IT security team to develop and update network security policies as necessary.


4. Cloud Security Management:

- Work with the Cloud guard platform to secure and protect cloud environments, ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

- Implement cloud security measures, such as encryption, access controls, and monitoring, to safeguard cloud-based assets.


5. Performance Optimization and Capacity Planning:

- Monitor firewall and security infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.

- Assist in capacity planning to ensure the firewall infrastructure meets current and future security requirements.


6. Patch Management and Upgrades:

- Coordinate and perform regular firmware updates, software patches, and security fixes for the firewall and security appliances.


7. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of firewall configurations, security policies, and standard operating procedures.

- Generate periodic security reports and metrics, presenting them to management for review.


8. Vendor Management:

- Interact with vendors to troubleshoot issues, obtain technical support, and keep abreast of the latest developments in firewall and cloud security technologies.


Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Proven experience in managing Checkpoint Firewalls and Cloud guard technologies.

- Strong knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and practices.

- Familiarity with cloud security best practices and cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Relevant certifications such as Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) and Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) are advantageous.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing security threats and technologies.
