What you will be doingAs part of an Agile team you’ll contribute and support the team to deliver its commitments on a predictable way according to the SAFe definition and with the expected quality.The Senior Oracle PL/SQL developer will work closely with each discipline within the Delivery Team (Product Owner, Design, Development and Test) to design and develop reports, data reconciliation routines, ETL processes and application code in response to business requirements.Perform design reviews, provide input and estimate effort required for implementationDesign code components/flows/reports to meet the business requirements and the functional designIdentify data requirements, define the data model and the data dependencies on the upstream systemsDevelop all the necessary report components – layout, templates, PL/SQL code - including documentation, in accordance with the functional and technical designImplement ETLs and data reconciliation routinesProduce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code at an accepted level of qualityDevelop unit tests (where appropriate) to the highest possible coverage levels. Suggest approaches for mocking test data and work closely with the QA engineers to ensure appropriate test coverage of the functionality

A flexible approach is necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and changeStrong experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle functions, procedures, packages. Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and data loading techniquesGood understanding of SQL performance tuning techniques, including approaches for retrieving large volumes of data. A desire to improve understanding of these techniques and apply them on day-to-day activitiesExperience with different RDMS or DW (Oracle, MS SQL Server, others) and SQL languageAbility to understand and design logical and physical data modelsExpert level knowledge in Oracle. In particular, exposure to standby databases, 10g/Oracle 11G RAC, performance tuning, SQL tuning.Knowledge of SSIS & PowerShell would be an added Advantage.Willing to work in the highly challenging production environment.Experience in a UNIX & Windows environment is mandatory.Good knowledge of shell scripting is desirable.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Extensive experience in Database installation, configuration, tuning and troubleshooting .Expected to provide hands-on production database support and database project support.Provides performance assessment and tuning as related to the operating system, the database, and disk subsystem.Provides technical support working with technical managers, developers, system administrators and architects.Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of DBA tools and new DBMS technologies.Attend to Incident Bridge and close incident / task ticket within SLA.Perform proactive maintenance & patching in production & non-production
