Job Title: Specification Consultant
Overview:
As a Specification Consultant, your primary role is to provide expert guidance and support to clients in developing accurate and comprehensive specifications for products or services offered by our company. You will serve as a trusted advisor, collaborating closely with clients and internal teams to ensure that project requirements are met and that our offerings are seamlessly integrated into project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Client Consultation:
Collaborate with clients to understand their project objectives, requirements, and specifications needs.
Provide expert advice and recommendations on product selection, configuration, and integration to meet project specifications.
Specification Development:
Work closely with clients and internal teams to develop detailed and accurate specifications for our products/services.
Ensure that specifications align with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Technical Expertise:
Serve as a subject matter expert on our products/services, including their features, capabilities, and applications.
Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to product specifications.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in the specification process.
Act as a primary point of contact for client inquiries, providing ongoing support and assistance as needed.
Training and Education:
Conduct training sessionsy and workshops for clients and internal teams on product specifications, applications, and best practices.
Provide educational materials and resources to support client understanding and adoption of our offerings.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment of efforts and seamless execution of specification projects.
Coordinate with external partners and suppliers as needed to address client requirements and preferences.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Monitor and track specification activities, including the number of specifications developed, conversion rates, and client satisfaction levels.
Prepare regular reports and updates on specification projects, outcomes, and performance metrics for management review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
Proven experience in a technical sales, specification, or consulting role within the construction, architecture, or engineering industries.
Strong technical knowledge and expertise in relevant products/services and their applications.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant technical software/tools.
Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites and industry events.
Additional Information:
This position may require occasional travel to client sites and industry events.
Flexible work hours may be necessary to accommodate client meetings and project deadlines.
