The Big Picture: As a Solar Project Engineer, you will be a critical member of our team focused on the early stages of solar energy projects. Your expertise will primarily contribute to the design, engineering and permitting phases, ensuring that solar projects meet regulatory requirements and are engineered for optimal performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Design: You'll lead the solar system design process, system layout, and equipment selection. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: You'll manage the permitting process, collaborating with regulatory authorities to obtain all necessary approvals and licenses.
  • Design Optimization: You'll continuously seek opportunities to optimize system design for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Quality Assurance: You'll implement quality control processes related to the design phase to ensure that the final solar systems meet or exceed specifications.
  • Code and Standards Compliance: You'll stay up-to-date with the latest industry codes, standards, and regulations to ensure designs are in compliance.
  • Budget and Cost Management: You'll assist in budgeting and cost estimation for the design and permitting phase of projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: You'll maintain clear and effective communication with clients, regulatory authorities, and internal teams regarding design and permitting progress.
  • Customer Experience: You'll advocate for customer feedback to facilitate continuous improvement of Illumine-i’s services and products. Strive to exceed customer expectations by consistently delivering outstanding service.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy-related fields. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in any field of engineering or design.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Great To Have:

  • Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, PV technology, and associated components.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent project management skills for design and permitting phases.
  • Proficient in solar design software and AutoCAD.
