Job Description:
We are seeking a MongoDB Database Administrator with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience to manage and optimize our MongoDB databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high performance, availability, and security of MongoDB databases through proper design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade MongoDB instances across various environments.
- Monitor database performance, implement changes to improve performance and scalability.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using native MongoDB tools or third-party solutions.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with development teams to support database design, schema design, and performance tuning.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
- Perform database migrations as needed, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Automate repetitive tasks and create scripts for efficient database management.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database-related incidents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a MongoDB Database Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of MongoDB architecture, replication, sharding, and best practices.
- Proficient in MongoDB query language and database performance tuning.
- Experience with MongoDB cloud services (Atlas, Ops Manager) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with database security, backup, and recovery.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
