Job Description :

Desired candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining and administrating MS-SQL DB Servers. He should also have excellence in capacity planning, architectural optimization and housekeeping tasks like back-up, performance tuning, monitoring critical events etc. He/She will play crucial role in system and process optimization to help fine tune the system and process to ensure high performance and throughput of the system

Responsibilities :

- 24-7 On-Call support (if needed) for tasks related to administration of database environments

- Create, Manage, Maintain, Optimize multiple heterogeneous databases

- Take lead in tasks like annual capacity planning, system configuration recommendation, disaster recovery, daily housekeeping tasks, system troubleshooting, system/process tuning, tasks like generating traces, execution plans, deadlocks/contention

- Define/Govern policies for maintaining data integrity and security,

- Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replications and indexes.

- Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures.

- Proactive housekeeping/archiving and shrinking of databases

- Learn relevant business processes and understand the data flow, criticality and dependencies.

- Effectively coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and clients)

Requirements / Qualifications / Experience :

Must Have :

- Graduation degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience

- Experience in Clustering and HA technologies including mirroring, log shipping, failover cluster, AlwaysOn and various replication technologies is must

- Extensive experience in system and process optimization, capacity planning, disaster recovery and other housekeeping task on massive databases with TB's of data

- Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, database architecture and SQL/T-SQL

- Innovative approach to work, constantly looking for upgrading the system to more efficient and effective new technologies

- Passionate, ambitious and multitasker, should be strong team player

- Understanding of Windows environment

- Experience in administrating Microsoft SQL server databases (2016 & above).

Good To Have :

- Experienced in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

- Knowledge of other databases like MySql, Mongodb, Postgresql, No SQL databases, In-memory databases and MCTIP certification will be an added advantage

- Working knowledge of Linux operating system
