Position Overview :

As a Senior Database Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our SQL Server databases.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data needs, develop complex SQL queries, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our database systems.

Your expertise will be essential in driving database performance improvements and implementing best practices in data management.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Design & Development :

- Design and implement database structures, including tables, indexes, and views.

- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

- Create and optimize data models to support business requirements and enhance performance.

Performance Tuning & Optimization :

- Monitor and tune SQL Server performance to ensure optimal efficiency and handle large volumes of data.

- Identify and resolve database bottlenecks, including query optimization and index management.

- Implement and maintain data archiving and purging strategies to manage database growth.

Data Integration & Reporting :

- Utilize SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.

- Design and generate custom reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to meet business needs.

- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems through effective integration practices.

Database Security & Backup :

- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.

- Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.

- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including patching and upgrades.

Collaboration & Communication :

- Work closely with development teams to understand data requirements and provide database solutions.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications.

- Provide technical support and guidance to junior developers and team members.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills :

- Analyze complex database issues and provide effective solutions.

- Conduct root cause analysis of database problems and implement preventive measures.

- Continuously evaluate and improve database performance and design.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in SQL Server is a plus.

Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in database design, development, and administration using SQL Server.

Technical Skills :

- Proficiency in SQL Server, including advanced SQL query writing and performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with SSIS for data integration and SSRS for reporting.

- Strong understanding of data modeling, normalization, and optimization techniques.

- Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures.

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
