Job Summary: We are seeking aSenior Software Engineer (6–8 years experience)to lead the development, customization, and integration of ourLMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas, OpenEdX) . This role requires expertise inPython/Django, JavaScript (Node.js, React), OpenEdX , and experience withLAMP stackfor Moodle customization. As akey technical contributor , you will work on platform enhancements,API integrations, cloud deployments, and performance optimizationwhile mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities: LMS Development & Architecture: Architect, develop, and maintain Moodle, Canvas, and OpenEdX learning platforms. Design and implement scalable backend solutions using Python/Django. Develop frontend components using React and Node.js for an intuitive user experience. Optimize LAMP stack performance for Moodle, ensuring high availability. Ensure seamless cross-platform and mobile responsiveness. System Integration & API Development: Design and developRESTful APIs and GraphQL APIsfor seamless system integration. ImplementSSO (OAuth, SAML, JWT)and authentication mechanisms for secure access. Integratethird-party services, payment gateways, and analytics platformsinto LMS. Cloud & DevOps Implementation: Deploy and manage LMS platforms onAWS/GCP/Azure , ensuring scalability. Work withDocker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelinesfor automated deployments. Implementmonitoring (Datadog, Prometheus) and loggingfor performance tracking. Performance & Security Optimization: Optimizedatabase performance (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and indexing . Enhancesystem security and compliancewith educational standards. Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of the LMS platforms. Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentorjunior engineers , conductcode reviews , and promote best coding practices. Collaborate withbusiness analysts, UX designers, and QA teamsto refine requirements. Work closely withDevOps and cloud engineersto ensure smooth deployments. Technical Documentation & Process Improvement: Maintaindetailed technical documentation , API specs, and system architecture diagrams. Continuously improvedevelopment workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps strategies .Required Skills & Experience: 6-8 yearsof experience inLMS development (Moodle, Canvas, OpenEdX) . Strong expertise inPython/Django, Node.js, React, and LAMP stack . Experience inLMS plugin development, customization, and API integrations . Hands-on experience withMySQL/PostgreSQL database optimization . Proficiency incloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)andcontainerization (Docker, Kubernetes) . Solid understanding ofOAuth, SAML, JWT authenticationmechanisms. Agile/Scrum experience with strong problem-solving skills.Preferred Skills: Experience inOpenEdX XBlocks development and customization . Familiarity withAWS Lambda, Step Functions, and microservices architecture . Exposure toGraphQL, Elasticsearch, and message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) . Understanding ofaccessibility (WCAG) and UX best practicesfor e-learning.
