About the JobJob Summary: We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to lead the design and development of large-scale Subscriptions and Payments platform. In this role, you will architect and build highly reliable, low-latency systems that power acquisition, retention, and payment journeys for hundreds of millions of users globally. You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and platform teams to deliver scalable APIs, fault-tolerant workflows, and extensible integrations with global payment ecosystems.About the team: Subscriptions and Payments Team powers the end-to-end direct monetization engine for India’s largest subscription platform, with over 250M+ subscriptions. We build scalable, multi-tenant systems for acquiring users via D2C and partner channels, reducing churn through intelligent renewal and retry mechanisms, and integrating deeply with global and local payment ecosystems like UPI Autopay and card mandates. Our platform drives seamless onboarding, high retention, and reliable payments at scale—enabling frictionless subscription experiences across geographies and devices.Key Responsibilities: Serves as the functional lead, possess deep knowledge of core systems and takes full responsibility for the team's code, design, and project delivery, ensuring high quality and on-time completionTackles complex technical challenges independently for complex systems, demonstrating technical depth and proficiency in multiple programming languagesIdentify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and areas for optimizationContribute to architectural discussions, propose innovative solutions, and evaluate trade-offs to make informed technical decisionsCollaborate with product managers to decompose large projects into manageable tasks and prioritize work effectivelyProvide mentorship and guidance to other developersCreate a tech roadmap for the teamWork on solving Live issues and be responsible for RCA and AIs Skills & Attributes for success:Strong coding and designing skills (Java)Experience in building high-scale distributed domain-driven microservicesProficiency with databases like MySQL, NoSql (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB) Embrace new technologies and work with various tools and technologies to achieve the desired functionalityExperience with AWS stacks like Aurora, SQS, Dynamo DB, EKS, etc. will be an added advantageExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in production environmentsCommunicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborate well within a team environment to achieve desired resultsPreferred Education & Experience: B-Tech or M-Tech in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a reputed university. 9-12 years of progressive experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time.About Us:Perched firmly at the nucleus of spellbinding content and innovative technology, JioStar is a leading global media & entertainment company that is reimagining the way audiences consume entertainment and sports.
