Please do not contact the recruiter directly.DESCRIPTION: TOC (Transportation Operation Center) is the central command and control center for 'Transportation Execution' across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting multiple geographies like NA, India and EU. Itensures hassle free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight fromvendorsto Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs tocarrier hubs.In case of any exceptions, TOC steps in to resolve theissue and keepsall the stakeholders informed on the proceedings. Alongwith thistactical problem solving TOC is also charged withunderstanding trendsin network exceptions and then automatingprocesses or proposing processchanges to streamline operations. Thissecond aspect involves networkmonitoring and significant analysis ofnetwork data. Overall, TOCplays a critical role in ensuring thesmooth functioning of Amazontransportation and thereby has a directimpact on Amazon's ability toserve its customers on time. Purview of a Trans Ops Specialist A Trans Ops Specialist at TOC facilitates flow of informationbetweendifferent stakeholders (Trans Carriers/Hubs/Warehouses) andresolvesanypotential issues that impacts customer experience andbusinesscontinuity. Trans Ops Specialist at TOC works across two verticals - Inbound and Outbound operations. Inbound Operations deals with Vendor/Carrier/FC relationship,ensuringthat the freight is picked-up on time and is delivered at FCas per thegiven appointment. Trans Ops Specialist on Inbound addressesanypotential issues occurring during the lifecycle of pick-up todelivery. Outbound Operations deals with FC/Carrier/Carrier Hubrelationship,ensuring that the truck leaves the FC in order todelivery customerorders as per promise. Trans Ops Specialiston Outbound addresses any potential issues occurring during thelifecycle of freight leaving the FC and reaching customer premises.A Trans Ops Specialistprovides timely resolution to the issue in hand by researching andquerying internal tools and by taking real-time decisions. An idealcandidate should be able to understand the requirements/be able toanalyze data and notice trends and be able to drive Customer Experiencewithout compromising on time. The candidate should have the basicunderstanding of Logistics and should be able to communicate clearly inthe written and oral form. Trans Ops Specialist should be able toideateprocess improvements and should have the zeal to drive them toconclusion.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:·Communication with external customers (Carriers,Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, SoftwareSupport, Fulfillment Centers) ·Ability to pull data fromnumerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other datamanagement systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis asneeded is a plus. ·Develop and/or understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results. ·Ability to scope out business and functional requirementsfor the Amazon technology teams who create and enhance the softwaresystems and tools are used by TOC. ·Must be able toquickly understand the business impact of the trends and make decisionsthat make sense based on available data. ·Must be abletosystematically escalate problems or variance in the information anddatato the relevant owners and teams and follow through on theresolutionsto ensure they are delivered. ·Work withinvarious timeconstraints to meet critical business needs, whilemeasuring andidentifying activities performed. ·Excellentcommunication, both verbal and written as one may be requiredto create anarrative outlining weekly findings and the variances togoals, andpresent these finding in a review forum. - Providing real-time customer experience by working in 24*7operating environment.A day in the lifeAbout the hiring groupJob responsibilitiesA day in the lifeAbout the hiring groupJob responsibilitiesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics - Experience with Excel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in SQLOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
