Job Description:

The Program Lead - Reading and Literature, is a visionary responsibility for the development, implementation, and oversight of high-quality reading and literature programs. This role drives excellence in literacy instruction, fostering a deep appreciation for reading and critical analysis of texts across all relevant age groups or academic levels. The Program Lead will champion evidence-based practices, curriculum innovation, and professional development to ensure all learners achieve strong reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and literary analysis skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Independently driving the school reading programs.
  2. Collaboration with teachers across the school.
  3. Effective student engagement.
  4. Parent and community initiatives and engagements.
  5. Documentation and communication systems management.
  6. Be active in implementing initiatives taken under the school reading program.
  7. Monitoring and evaluating the program effectively on a real time basis.
  8. Reports generation and data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BA English (Desirable - Post graduation in language and literature)
  • Experience: 2-5 years of progressive experience in teaching reading and literature at K-12.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent presentation and professional development facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and its application in literacy instruction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
