Position:Head of the Department (HoD) Department:Nutrition and Dietetics Location:Faculty of Applied Sciences, Parul University Waghodia Vadodara Gujarat India Type:Full-TimeAbout the Role Parul University invites applications from distinguished academicians and professionals for the position ofHead of the Department – Nutrition and Dietetics . The HoD will provide visionary leadership to the department, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and administration.Key Responsibilities :- Provide academic and strategic leadership for the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Design, develop, and implement curriculum in line with national/international standards. Supervise and mentor faculty members, researchers, and students. Initiate and coordinate funded research projects, industry collaborations, and consultancy services. Promote quality teaching, innovative pedagogy, and student-centered learning. Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and institutional standards. Lead departmental administration, including budgeting, faculty recruitment, timetabling, and performance reviews. Foster a culture of academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development. Represent the department in academic councils, university committees, and external forums. Strengthen community outreach programs, extension activities, and public health initiatives.Required Qualifications Ph.D. in Nutrition and Dietetics / Food & Nutrition / Clinical Nutrition / Allied fieldsfrom a recognized university. Proven research record with publications in peer-reviewed journals (Scopus/UGC Care/Web of Science indexed). Experience in supervising doctoral/PG research scholars. Strong knowledge of emerging trends in dietetics, clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, and food science.Experience Minimum 10 years of administrative and academic experiencein higher education, including leadership roles such as HoD, Dean, Program Director, or equivalent. Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and faculty management. Experience in developing research grants, consultancy projects, and international collaborations preferred.Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and organizational management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Capacity to foster an inclusive, innovative, and research-driven environment.
