Principal - Design, Apeejay Institute of Design  About Us: Apeejay Institute of Design, Delhi, established in 1991, is a premier Design Institute of the country with a mission to nurture and promote ‘Art, Culture and Design‘. About The Role: The role plays an important part in leading and managing overall Apeejay Institute of Design & staff members of the institute under the guidance of the Senior Management and in line with Apeejay Stya Group’s Ethos, Culture, Values and the Vision.The Principal will be responsible for the administration and efficient conduct of the educational program of the institute and for integrating the plans of the institute with those of Apeejay Stya Group.Job Responsibilities:Leading the institute and ensuring objectives of the institute are met.Ensuring the institute achieves excellence in academics through innovative teaching methodologies; up-gradation of existing staff, proactive changes in curriculum and assessment methodologies.Evaluating existing courses, its relevance and suggesting improvements within guidelines.Based on industry requirements conceive, design, develop and implement new courses ensuring all regulatory requirements.Encourage and enhance research within the institute. Encourage team to focus and guide research students and/or projects.Sharing and adopting best practice from other institutes.Evaluate assessment criteria and suggest changes as and when required.Regular monitoring of Regulatory guidelines/procedures defined by Authorities / Management.Ensure proper documentation as per regulatory guidelines in collaboration with Registrar and Academic Registrar.Lead regulatory audits and other investigations as and when required.Responsible for upholding culture through communication, positive approach and inculcating and maintaining strong ethical standards.Actively participate in admission process from inception to execution in conjunction with the relevant stake holders. Job Knowledge (Prerequisite):Should be well acquainted with the various Accreditation Agencies and Statutory Bodies and the procedures and updated with latest trends of the field.Knowledge of amendments/changes in regulatory norms.Broad knowledge and understanding of the design-related world and demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in envisioning and articulating the needs of Apeejay Institute of Design. Skill Set:Strong Academic, Leadership and Administrative skills.Leadership SkillsExcellent Communication Skills (Both verbal & written)Conflict ManagementStrategic ThinkingExcellent Time Management SkillsA commitment to shared governance, cultural diversity, and the enthusiasm to embrace collaborative global initiativesEducation Qualification: Should have a Ph.D and should be an outstanding scholar who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in his concerned / allied / relevant discipline.A Professional with highly commendable professional achievement in the concerned subject having Master’s degreeExperience:Should be an eminent scholar with a doctoral degree actively engaged in research with ten years of experience in teaching and /or research at the University/National level institutions including experience of guiding research at doctoral level, with outstanding performing achievement in the field of specialization, a minimum of 6 research publications in the peer reviewed/ UGC listed journalsTen years of experience of holding regular regional/national exhibition/workshops with evidence;Significant contributions in the field of specialization and ability to guide research;Participation in National/International Seminars/Conferences/ Workshops and/or recipient of National/International Awards/ Fellowships; andAbility to explain with logical reasoning the subject concerned and adequate knowledge to teach theory with illustrations in the said discipline.Preferably not more than 52 years of ageCompensation:Not a constraint for the right candidate.Openings: 1 If interested, please send in your updated profile along with a cover letter, specifying current ctc, expected ctc and notice period details to sapna.jain@apeejay.edu
