Job descriptionAbout the roleWe are seeking a Smart Device Integration (SDI), Telematics & Navigation Test Engineer to join our dynamic global team working on cutting-edge infotainment, telematics, and navigation systems. This role is more than validation, it’s about bridging smartphones, vehicles, and cloud platforms seamlessly while collaborating daily with on-site teams in Europe. You’ll be an integral part of one unified global engineering unit, contributing to the future of connected mobility within a culture built on trust, curiosity, and teamwork. As part of our project team, you will help shape the technologies of the future for leading automotive OEMs.How you’ll make an impact- Validate Smart Device Integration (SDI) features including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and connected telematics services. - Perform end-to-end testing across infotainment, navigation, and telematics domains — ensuring smooth connectivity, GPS precision, and data consistency between smartphones, ECUs, and backend systems. - Reproducing and analysing complex error patterns and creating tickets for them. - Validate navigation and map features such as route calculation, live traffic, dynamic rerouting, and GPS accuracy across multiple devices and OS versions. - Test native navigation systems alongside projected apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze. - Analyse logs, CAN traces, and communication packets using tools such as CANoe, Wireshark, ADB, and diagnostic toolsets. - Collaborate with engineers, designers, and architects in Europe to reproduce issues, perform root cause analysis, and validate fixes. - Maintain high-quality documentation, ensuring all results and defects are traceable in tools like JIRA or Polarion. - Contribute to continuous improvement in test automation, data analytics, and efficiency and drive innovation across teams.What will make you a great fit- You thrive in multicultural, collaborative environments, working as a trusted partner across time zones. - Approach challenges with curiosity, ownership, and structured problem-solving. - Value quality, empathy, and teamwork as much as technical precision. - Communicate clearly and constructively, always building bridges between remote and on-site teams. - Reliable and structured, ensure test quality, traceability, and ownership of outcomes.What is in it for you- Work alongside experienced engineers shaping the future of connected mobility. - Be part of an inclusive, respectful, and growth-oriented culture that values both skill and empathy. - Gain exposure to global engineering practices and real-world vehicle test environments through remote collaboration. - Access to continuous development opportunities, mentoring, and technical workshops. - A workplace where your ideas, curiosity, and human values matter as much as your technical expertise.What you bring and buildMust-have- Between 5-10 years of experience in infotainment, telematics, or navigation-system validation. - Hands-on expertise with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS/Navigation testing, and Connected Vehicle Telematics. - Strong understanding of vehicle–backend communication, OTA updates, and connected services. - Working knowledge of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, and mobile data connectivity protocols. - Proficiency in tools like JIRA / ALM / Polarion, Android Studio Logcat, iOS Console, Wireshark, CANoe / CANalyzer, and GPS trace analysers. - Experience with functional and regression testing aligned with ISTQB or ASPICE frameworks. - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent). - Excellent English communication skills and proactive collaboration across global teams.Nice to have- Experience working with premium OEM infotainment or telematics platforms. - Familiarity with map data validation (HERE, TomTom, Google, Apple Maps). - Exposure to GPS signal simulation and test automation frameworks (Python, ADB, Appium). - Understanding of diagnostic and coding tools in connected vehicle systems. - ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent. - Working knowledge of German language
