Job Title: Red Team Penetration Tester / Threat Researcher

Location: Remote


 

Job Summary: As a Red Teaming Penetration Tester, you will simulate real-world attacks on our systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities and provide actionable insights for improving our security measures. You will work closely with our Blue Team to develop and refine security strategies and ensure the organization is well-prepared against sophisticated threats.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests, including network, web application, and social engineering assessments.

• Perform threat modeling and attack simulations to evaluate security controls and response capabilities.

• Identify, exploit, and document vulnerabilities in various systems and applications.

• Develop and execute advanced attack scenarios and tactics to simulate real-world adversaries.

• Collaborate with the Blue Team to enhance detection and response capabilities through adversarial simulations.

• Provide detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders, including technical findings and remediation recommendations.

• Analyse and document TTPs used by cyber adversaries and provide insights to enhance our threat intelligence capabilities.

• Create and maintain threat intelligence reports, indicators of compromise (IOCs), and threat intelligence feeds.

• Monitor threat intelligence sources and participate in information sharing with industry partners and community groups.

• Provide actionable recommendations for improving security measures and incident response plans based on threat research findings.

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and vulnerabilities that could impact the organization.

• Participate in security awareness training and workshops to educate team members about the evolving threat landscape.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 4-5 years of experience in penetration testing, red teaming, or a related security role.

• Strong knowledge of offensive security tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike, Nmap).

• Proficient in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).

• Experience with network protocols, operating systems, and web technologies.

• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, OWASP, PCI DSS).

• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, OSCE, CEH, or similar) are preferred.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
